Description

The Jacob is an attractive British breed of domestic sheep and they tend to be small and multi-horned. They produce beautifully soft sheepskin rugs that are cream and brown. Jacob rugs add an effortlessly traditional vibe to any living space. Each fleece has its own individual character with brown markings throughout, so you can be sure yours will be truly unique.

These Jacobs are all expertly tanned in Britain’s oldest tannery, just a few miles from where our sheep graze on Dartmoor. Please note, that as a completely natural product, if you purchase one of these sheepskins, it will differ slightly in its patterns and markings and size. The approximate size guide for each Jacob sheepskin rug is:

Standard – No less than 90cm in length though they can be much larger than this.
Smaller – No Less than 75cm in length, same premium quality as a standard

Crafted on Dartmoor, Devon

When you buy a Dartmoor Shepherd product you are buying direct from the shepherds. All their sheepskins are a bi-product of slow grown, pasture fed hogget/lamb. Their sheep never leave Dartmoor throughout the entire process from lambing right through to the tanning of the rugs. By working closely with Britain’s oldest tannery based on the edge of the moor, less than 20 miles from where the sheep graze they produce a truly superior product.
