Natural materials perfectly regulate body temperature and are soft, comfortable and supportive. Vispring do not use foam inside their mattresses to avoid the build up of body heat and to ensure their mattresses last a lifetime - hence the Vispring lifetime guarantee.
Only the highest quality natural materials can ensure supreme comfort. Vispring sources the finest fleeces for wool that softens and insulates its beds, and the search begins close to home.
Britain's changeable climate makes wool from these isles uniquely soft, springy and strong, and renowned throughout the world for it's superiority.
VI-Spring is the only bed manufacturer to use pure British fleece wool exclusively in the production of it's beds - and the only company to use an incredible four full fleeces in a typical mattress.
Soft, supportive, with an in-built bounce that resists pressure - wool is recognised as one of the finest materials for bed upholstery.
It's intrinsic qualities, including it's natural flame resistance, make it the perfect filling for mattresses and divans, where it performs better than foam and other synthetic products to provide long-lasting structure and comfort.
Wool fibres have a composition that is unique in nature and unmatched by synthetic alternatives. As a result, the fibre works in harmony with your body, keeping you warm in winter and cooler in summer, to enhance the quality of your rest.
All VI-Spring beds are made with premium 100% fleece wool. VI-Spring only selects wool that has been awarded Platinum certification by the British Wool Marketing Board. It is also the only bed maker to use real Shetland Isle wool - over one quarter of the annual Shetland Isle wool clip is destined for a world-class VI-Spring bed.
Vispring is proud to support the Campaign for Wool, patron His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales. The company is honoured to be part of the revival of the wool industry in this country, supporting the raising of rare breed sheep, the smallholders and farmers who work so tirelessly, and the craftspeople who transform British fleece into one of the world's most renowned fabrics.

The Turkish long-fibre cotton used by VI-Spring is incredibly soft and durable, with an unparalleled sheen. Highly absorbent and naturally breathable, it is uniquely hygienic - wicking away moisture to preserve your comfort throughout the night.

The longest natural fibre, it has been an essential element of bed making for generations. Whether from the mane or tail, it contributes unparalleled springiness to VI-Spring beds. The finest quality is European horsetail, untwisted by hand to preserve the fibre’s natural resilience and the open structure that facilitates air circulation.
Horsetail Mattress Fillings

Mohair Mattress Fillings
Mohair comes from the Karoo National Park in South Africa, a spectacular expanse of semi-desert and grassland that produces the finest mohair in the world. One of the oldest textile fibres in use today, this luxurious material is made from the hair of the Angora goat. Durable, resilient and exquisitely soft, it is also an excellent natural insulator; warm in winter, its moisture wicking properties keep it deliciously cool in summer to guarantee year-round comfort.
Silk Mattress Fillings
Silk is the strongest natural fibre known to man, silk has been highly prized since ancient times. The silk that graces VI-Spring beds comes from China – gateway to the ancient Silk Road. Rare, refined and incredibly soft, it was originally reserved exclusively for the Emperor’s use: for centuries, its production method remained a closely guarded secret. Silk offers a naturally luxurious bedtime experience, adapting to ambient temperature to provide coolness in summer, warmth in winter and distinctive smoothness all year round.
Vicuna Mattress Fillings
Vicuna is a precious gift from the high Andean plateaux, vicuna wool is one of the most sought after and luxurious textiles in the world. It symbolises the splendours of Inca civilization, when it was against the law for anyone but royalty to wear vicuna garments. Vicuna is absorbent, has excellent insulating properties and - being free of lanolin - is hypo-allergenic. VI-Spring selects these long, lustrous fibres for their warmth, their beauty and their delicious softness.

Adding horsetail to a bed is like giving it two million extra springs: the fibre bounces back after compression to restore your VI-Spring mattress’s shape after a restful night’s sleep.
VI-Spring uses the finest European and South American horsetail in its beds. It is the only bed maker to use the world's finest Moosburger horsetail, sourced from a family run business in Austria. The family has chosen to work with VI-Spring exclusively because of the uncompromising standards of its beds. It is a partnership based on a passion for tradition, technique and absolute perfection in the end product.
Selecting the finest horsetail is only the start of the story. VI-Spring's craftsmen carefully weigh the correct quantity of horsetail, then open and tease the coils of hair by hand to enhance its natural springiness. The horsetail is blended with other premium natural fibres, such as silk, cashmere and wool, to create beds with incredible breathability, softness and support. The horsetail and other fine natural fillings are laid over the bed of honeycombed pocket springs, ready for the final hand finishing.
Lengths of horsetail are sorted according to their width and softness, and twisted into coils. When a mattress is made, the horsetail is hand-opened and teased, and hand laid among layers of natural filling.
VI-Spring has decades of experience in understanding the intrisic qualities of each natural material.
Today, it uses that expertise to create beds that are defined by the desirability, performance and luxury of the fillings used. And just as important as the products VI-Spring puts in its beds are those it leaves out.
Vispring pocket each spring in pure calico and hand side-stitches every mattress with flax twine. Vispring's commitment to quality is as natural as the materials it uses, which is why Vispring won't use synthetic foam or glue in their mattresses.
