Description

The Millbrook Anchor bed is the first bed in a new range of beds from the Tidal collection featuring Quilted (non tufted or buttoned) double sided mattresses – upholstered with natural fillings.  The Anchor mattress is a hand-made mattress with 1000 pocket springs nested into the core to give good independent support of the hip and shoulder areas. Covering the spring system are layers of natural fillings that include cotton and a blend of local wool and silk from the Hampshire area which combine to give a soft/medium feel.

Pocket Springs

Pocket Springs are typical in a traditional hand crafted mattress and are used across the industry in most mattress applications, the Anchor bed contains 1000 individually wrapped pocket springs which give the core support to this bed. Pocket springs move independently from each other which means the bed can respond better to pressure points like the hip and shoulder areas while keeping the body correctly aligned

Locally Sourced Wool & Silk

Hampshire Wool sheep breeds are sheep from the Hampshire Down, the Southdown and others are downland types, rather than hill or mountain breeds. 100% fleece wool grown in the county of Hampshire has been specially selected to make Millbrook Beds and we have taken full advantage of the special characteristics of this wool and are very proud to be using locally sourced materials.

Hand Crafted

Millbrook mattresses are hand made in Southampton where they've been making beds since 1946. Each mattress is deeply filled with luxury natural fibres which are hand-teased into the mattress, the borders of the mattress are then reinforced with at least 2 rows of hand side stitching which hold the shape of the mattress and ensure comfort from edge to edge.

So confident are we that the Millbrook mattresses are built to withstand the test of time we offer a 10 year guarantee with each mattress or bed. It's important to turn and rotate a mattress of this construction to ensure even settlement of the fillings.
