Making Premium Beds for over 120 years

For over a century, Vispring have been refining the subtle art of pairing the perfect combination of spring size, tension and resilience with the finest materials nature has to offer. This mattress is upholstered with 1,000gsm of bonded British fleece wool and cotton, 1,200gsm long-stranded horsehair, enclosed in a hair-proof cambric cover. Overlaid with a layer of 1,200gsm blended British fleece wool and cotton. Unlike synthetic materials, the natural properties of wool inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi and dust mites. It is a clean, hygienic filling that is hypoallergenic.

Horsetail has been an essential element of upholstery in mattress making for centuries. Vispring uses only the finest Moosburger horsetail for it's mattresses – the long, supple and silky hairs have an inherent strength and springiness that makes them the perfect filling. Vispring houses each spring under slight compression in natural calico pockets, so they offer immediate resistance to your body weight. The pockets contain the springs while allowing them to work independently, gently supporting you from head to toe as you sleep. As the Vispring name suggests, springs are a precious ingredient in each mattress recipe.

Hand Nested Spring for Added Support

The mattress contains a total of 1476 hand-nested pocket springs (based on a king-size model) that are 51mm in diameter, they are hand-nested in a honeycomb pattern by their experienced craftsmen to maximize the support offered by the mattress. This mattress has a 21cm deep mattress border that features two rows of genuine hand side-stitching. Eight horizontal handles on a king-size model and above and air vents on all sides. Finally the borders are upholstered with protective lambswool and finished with piped ticking. This mattress is hand tufted with felt washers and benefits from two rows of genuine hand side stitching with flax twine.
