The fillings within the bed provides the softest covering for thousands of Vispring unique pocket springs, hand-laid in a double layer for definitive comfort and superb support with the Vispring Signatory bed – one of the finest ever divan sets ever made. The Vispring Signatory bed contains 2,664* pocket springs, 51mm in diameter, sewn into individual calico pockets and hand formed into a honeycomb-nested unit, constructed with two layers of springs. Vispring are the inventors of the pocket spring and have always used 6 coils as the optimum amount in each spring, VI (in Roman numerals), hence the name Vispring. Vispring believe that sleeping on the right bed can be a truly life-changing experience.

Hand Crafted in Plymouth

This bed is hand-made to order in the company’s workshops in Plymouth, Devon. Vispring work with an uncompromising approach, but because sleep is such a deeply personal part of life, it’s really the only way to ensure that every bed is not only supremely comfortable, but also fits its owner like a glove. The bed is beautifully upholstered with British fleece wool, then 1,525gsm hand-teased long-stranded horsetail blended with real Shetland Isle fleece wool, silk and mohair, enclosed in a hair-proof cambric cover and overlaid with 1,200gsm blended real Shetland Isle fleece wool and cotton. Wool fibres have a composition that is unique in nature and unmatched by synthetic alternatives. As a result, the fibre works in harmony with your body, keeping you warm in winter and cooler in summer, to enhance the quality of your rest.

The Finest Horsetail

Selecting the finest horsetail is only the start of the story. Vispring craftsmen carefully weigh the correct quantity of horsetail, then open and tease the coils of hair by hand to enhance its natural springiness. This is all wrapped in your choice of fine worsted wool upholstery fabric from the Vispring fabric collection. The bed is hand tufted with hand-tied woollen tufts and twine and benefits from four rows of genuine hand side stitching with flax twine. This gives the mattress an exquisite, tailored finish, but more importantly it gives supportive strength to the mattress edges that lesser beds need a metal rod to achieve.

The Vispring Signatory mattress partners the Vispring Viceroy divan base, 2,010* pocketed springs on a glued and screwed solid timber frame. 1,200gsm natural coir pad overlaid with 1,200gsm blended British fleece wool and cotton, and once again in your choice of the finest quality fabrics in a multitude of colour options.
